Studio TLLC ... 142 sf, interior, cozy and very warm in the winter. TLLF - 970 sf, two window wells, lots of space.
When I put the amazing red roof on in 2014 part of the reason I held out until I could manage a standing seam roof was because I badly wanted to get solar panels. I have tried to over the years and finally it is becoming reality in the next three months. The contract is signed and I am Sooooo excited. I love the company that I have hired (let's hope that endures) and I love that at least one part of this building will be run on renewable energy.
About 280 sf this studio is the perfect size for a lot of things, it has a beautiful tile floor and a double utility sink. AND it's rented! This studio is perfect for one person drawing, video editing, or painting small. it has a huge window well, cozy and bright. It's rented! AND I have an identical studio on the interior available April 1st
970 sf of beautiful open space will be available April 1, 2022. The current tenant needs more space...lucky him. Contact me through the tab above or email [email protected] if you are looking for a good, friendly studio and want to take a look. AND ... I am FINALLY beginning to work on The Handball Court! (I kid you not, it really was a handball court when they built this place in 1928). Here's the hall outside which shows some of the way things were before I began the studios only better, really much better than it was. There will be a storage room, a dressing room and another toilet here. And here we have the interior... 19' x 35' with a 12'3" ceiling...lots of work to do, it's going to be amazing when it's finished if I ever get there.... Just to give you an idea, the rest of the place looked like this or worse so it's doable. Somehow it never gets easier though.

AuthorElfie Harris. Marble sculptor, photographer and owner of 47 High Street. So glad I grew up in Germantown and decided to stay and do my sculpture here. And I am so happy to finally have studios for other artists in my building which is what I envisioned when we bought it in 1981. I'm not finished yet. Archives
